Al-Manar University of Tripoli (MUT), Tripoli, Lebanon, www.mut.edu.lb, signed with White Mountain Technologies (WMT) to implement UniversiTools student information. The teaming up between the two parties is another step forward in serving MUT’s mission to “offer the highest quality of education for the best possible value,” and its objective “to offer higher and quality education and research comparable to international standards.” MUT’s decision to implement UniversiTools came as a result of balancing between its technology needs, the quality of servicing that WMT offers, and the rational and competitive quality-to-price ratio that WMT products offers. The university decided to implement the full SIS system, opting for the license-based option with yearly maintenance, as opposed to the yearly subscription option. This covers on-line application, admissions, contract sheet, advising, registration, course drop and add, accounts receivables, grading, transcripts, holds and clearances, degree audit, and graduation. Also, WMT will migrate MUT’s historical data of the previous years to UniversiTools database. UniversiTools at MUT will go live in the semester Fall 2013. The university administration, faculty, advisors, and students will be the users, accessing UniversiTools through their designated online self-service centers (portals).
